Posted on 09/28/2018
Absentee ballots for the upcoming midterm election will be mailed to City of Monroe residents the week of October 1st to voters who have submitted an absentee ballot request.

After the initial mailing, the Clerk’s office will continue to process absentee ballot requests and mail ballots daily through November 3rd.

A request for an absentee ballot must be received in writing at the Clerk’s office and must include one of the reasons allowed under Michigan State law which include: age 60 years or older; unable to vote without assistance at the polls; expecting to be out of town on election day; in jail awaiting arraignment or trial; unable to attend the polls due to religious reasons; appointed to work as an election inspector.

For special circumstances associated with this mailing, including those that will be out of town during the initial absentee ballot mailing, please contact the Clerk’s office via the contact information below. Staff will be diligently working with all residents to insure they receive ballots in a timely manner.

Tuesday, October 9th, is the last day to register to vote in the November 6th midterm election.
