YOUR HERITAGE HOME
"Your Heritage Home: A Practical Program Series for Old House Lovers” is

a public education initiative developed by the
City of Monroe Historic District Commission to help residents better understand, care for, and preserve older homes.
The series features practical workshops, demonstrations, and expert guidance from local professionals and craftspeople with experience in historic preservation and restoration trades.
Topics are designed to provide homeowners and residents with hands-on knowledge and approachable instruction that can be applied to real projects at home.
Whether participants own a historic home, are interested in preservation techniques, or simply want to learn a new restoration skill, the program offers opportunities to connect with Monroe’s architectural heritage while celebrating the craftsmanship and character that make the community’s historic neighborhoods unique.
As an ongoing educational series, “Your Heritage Home” supports the long-term preservation of Monroe’s historic homes and encourages greater appreciation for the city’s historic resources through accessible, community-focused learning opportunities.
