In an effort to promote a clean and safe environment, and for the convenience of our residents, the City of Monroe Department of Public Services clears dead animals from the public roadways. This service is performed as staff is available and applies only to City streets as opposed to yards and other private property.

Live animal concerns other than nuisance complaints are the responsibility of Monroe County Animal Control, and they can be contacted at 734-240-3125. Some of the resources or services provided include adoption, lost and found, licensing, and legal information. Animal traps of various sizes are also available for rent to combat nuisance animals.

Monroe County is also fortunate to have the Humane Society of Monroe County, a no-kill animal shelter, and they can be contacted at (734) 240-0562. Adoption and rescue services are available.
